How the funding will be  used

  • The school is working with an Educational Psychologist, along with five other schools within the Crofty Trust,  for the second year of a three year agreement. The school’s SENCO, other SENCOs within the Crofty Trust and the Educational Psychologist meet on a regular basis to keep up to date with developments and the sharing of best practice. Shared work is including working on our school’s SEN offer and Autism training.
  • Learning Mentor works with individuals and groups at point of need and is working on supporting children overcoming barriers to learning.
  • The HLTA Sports Coach is delivering Funfit sessions 2x weekly to encourage gross and fine motor control to secure legible handwriting.
  • Project Code X is being delivered to three groups across the school to ensure accurate decoding and comprehension of texts.
  • Teaching Assistant time allocated to deliver twice weekly Pre-Teach Maths sessions.
  •  A Paired Reading project is running in the first instance for a period of six weeks focusing on those children who need additional help.
  • Toe By Toe Phonics programme is being utilised for individuals where the ability to decode fluently is a barrier to reading.
