How the funding was used

  • School secured the services of an Educational Psychologist together with the five other schools within the Crofty Trust. Used as a resource to secure queries of staff to ensure best practice and SENCO and Educational Psychologist met on a regular basis.
  • Learning Mentor allocated time in order to appropriately meet the social and emotional needs of individuals and groups through delivering RTIME sessions and Friendship Detectives.
  • HLTA Sports Coach delivered Funfit sessions 3x weekly to encourage gross and fine motor control to secure legible handwriting.
  • Counting To Calculating programme used to identify the gaps in children’s Mathematical understanding and delivered twice weekly to plug those gaps.
  • Teaching Assistant time allocated to deliver twice weekly Pre-Teach Maths sessions.
  •  Additional reading resources purchased to engage reluctant readers and to augment existing library and class book resources.
  • Toe By Toe Phonics programme utilised to encourage phonetic decoding of written text to aid fluency and understanding.
  •  Spelling group to address common errors and to increase children’s ability to spell unknown words using existing knowledge of common words, letter patterns, mnemonics etc.

 

Impact: Narrowing the gap in the attainment of Pupil Premium children

All children identified as Pupil Premium children attained Level 4+ in Reading, Writing and Maths.

This group of children made expected progress from Y2 to Y6 in all subjects, with one child making better than expected progress in reading.
